If you are seeking relief from your hair loss, look to an experienced hair loss physician like Dr. Yates for information! What is FUE?

Follicular Unit Extraction, or FUE, is a procedure in which individual follicular units are harvested or punched from the back of the scalp and transplanted back into the problematic balding areas of the head. Current technology allows hair loss physicians to choose only the most viable follicles for extraction, so they can avoid making a painful cut and transplanting entire strips of hair.

Dr. Yates has mastered the artistic ability to create natural-looking hairlines and achieve ideal levels of hair density. The key is using micro-incisions to create sites to place each individual follicular unit, which will grow into a natural, undetectable pattern over the year following the procedure.

There are several instruments for your physician to choose from when performing FUE. He will make that decision based on the state of an individual’s hair loss and its actual causes in order to achieve optimal results. Dr. Yates has been performing FUE exclusively for over 6 years and is considered one of the best FUE surgeons in the nation. Current technology allows the hair restoration surgeon to choose only the most viable follicles for extraction. This eliminates the traditional cut, pain and large linear scar associated with older methods.

Will I Be A Good Candidate?

Though hair transplants are an elective procedure, there are some basic criteria a patient should meet to ensure that they will be a good candidate for a surgical solution like FUE.
Some of These Criteria Include:

  • A diagnosis of androgenetic alopecia or another condition that will respond well to a hair transplant
