What is an Eyebrow Transplant?

Years ago, the style for eyebrows was to have brows that were very groomed and many people spent a lot of time and money waxing and plucking them. Unfortunately for some people, as a result, they now suffer from thin and patchy eyebrows that have never fully filled in. This can cause an unnatural appearance that some consider to be undesirable. Eyebrow pencils can fill in the areas, but this can rub off or make give the eyebrows an unnatural appearance. Some people are looking for another solution for their eyebrow dilemma and an eyebrow transplant may just be that solution.

Thousands of women suffer from very thin or over-plucked brows and with the current style being more natural and thicker, this can be problematic. Some people are looking for a way to return their eyebrows to their natural state. Previously, the options for correction were limited to drawing them in or waiting the painful amount of time until they grew back on their own. However, there are other options that can give you instant results that are natural looking and aesthetically pleasing.

Serums

You can find a variety of serums on the market that will claim they can make your eyebrows grow more quickly. These serums are applied at night and claim they can provide users with thicker and fuller eyebrows in just a few short weeks. However, there is not much research to back these claims.

Cosmetic tattooing

Permanent makeup allows for people to achieve very natural looking results and this is providing people with solutions that were not available years ago. However, you need to realize that this option is a permanent solution, so you will need to be sure that the eyebrow still you choose is one you are willing to keep for the rest of your life. If the style changes again, you will not simply be able to pluck them into the new, desired shape.

Eyebrow transplant

An eyebrow transplant allows for people to have hair follicles transplanted to their eyebrows, just like if they experienced hair loss somewhere else. Hair will still be transplanted from a donor area to the brow area, which is usually behind the ears.

Patients will be given a local anesthetic for the procedure and there will be very minimal downtime afterwards. The eyebrow hairs are transplanted individually, which allows for there to be no unattractive scarring. Eyebrow transplants give patients immediate and permanent results. Once the new hairs begin to grow, you might want to trim them down into the desired shape.

If you would like to learn more about eyebrow transplants or what other hair loss treatments would be a good solution for you, you can contact the experienced hair loss physician, Dr. Yates. He will be able to determine what is causing your hair loss and will let you know what your options are for treatment.
